Manage an ability response
A student’s ability score comes from their answers to the award scheme’s ability questions. The answers are called a response. Use Manage Response to see the answers behind a score, and to correct them when they are wrong.
What you need before starting
Section titled “What you need before starting”- You can manage waitlist responses. Staff without this access do not see the Manage Response or Manage buttons.
Open a response
Section titled “Open a response”You can open Manage Response in two ways:
- On a register’s waitlist, select Manage Response on the student’s row. See View a register’s waitlist.
- On the student’s profile, open the Waiting Lists tab, then select Manage on the award scheme.
The window shows the Student, the Award Scheme, the Response Score, and when the response was Last Updated. Under Response, it lists each Question with its Answer.
See an earlier version
Section titled “See an earlier version”Every correction is saved as a new version. The Response list shows each version by the date and time it was saved. Choose a version to see its answers and score.
Correct the answers
Section titled “Correct the answers”You can only edit the latest version.
- Open the latest version of the response.
- Select Edit Response.
- For each question, choose Yes or No.
- Select Save Response.
Result: Swimio saves the answers as a new version and works out a new score. The earlier version stays unchanged, so you keep a record of both. Swimio shows The ability form response has been updated successfully.
If you close the window while editing, Swimio asks you to confirm, because your changes will be lost.
Why the score matters
Section titled “Why the score matters”The score decides:
- Which students Offer Space and Smart Match suggest for a class. The score must be close to the class average.
- The Skill Gap shown in Offer Space and Smart Matches.
A corrected score applies to every waitlist entry the student has under that award scheme.
