Review match results

The Smart Matches page lists every current match. Each row pairs one empty place with one waiting student. Use it to check the suggestions and offer the space to the students you agree with.

For how matches are chosen, see Smart Matches overview.

Select Smart Matches from the main menu. The list shows 10 matches per page. When there are none, it shows No Matches found….

Column What it means
Student The matched student.
Account Holder The student’s main account holder.
Register The register of the empty place.
Instructor The class’s instructor.
Seat# The number of the empty place.
Class Timings When the class runs.
Available From The first day the place is free.
Matched Skill Gap How far the student’s score is from the class average. A smaller number is a closer fit.
Matched From Where the student came from: Waitlist or Move request.
Date Matched The day Smart Match made the match.
  1. Find the match in the list.
  2. Select Offer Space on the row. The Offer Space window opens straight on the send-offer screen, with the student already chosen.
  3. Check the start date. Swimio suggests the next class session after the day the place is free, or after today if the place is already free. If the student’s waitlist entry has a later earliest start date, the suggestion starts from that date instead.
  4. Complete the offer. See Offer a space.
  5. Select Offer Space.

Result: the offer is created, and the match leaves the list.

To leave the match without offering, select Cancel. The match stays in the list.

A match leaves the list when:

  1. Staff offer the space from the match.
  2. Someone offers the same place another way, for example from the class card.
  3. A staff member clears all matches while fetching new ones. See Fetch new matches.
Problem Why it happens What to do
The list is empty No search has found a match yet, or there are no empty places. Start a search. See Fetch new matches.
A student you expected is missing The student does not meet a matching rule, for example they have no ability score, or their preferred days do not fit the class. Check the rules in Smart Matches overview.
A class is never matched Consolidate Mode is on, or the register is hidden from account holders and Smart Match. Check the class and register settings.
