Move Requests overview
A move request records that a student wants a different class in the same register, for example a different day or time. The student keeps their current place while they wait. When a place in a class that suits them is free, staff offer it to them. The student moves only when the new place is confirmed.
Which registers use move requests
Section titled “Which registers use move requests”| Register type | How a student moves |
|---|---|
| Perpetual and Term | With a move request. |
| Crash Course | With a direct move. The student moves at once, with no move request. See Move a student. |
What a move request holds

- The register. The new class is always in the same register.
- Preferred days and times: the days the student can attend, with a From and To time for each day.
- VIP: helps Smart Match choose between move requests that fit a place equally well. See View move requests.
- Created At: the date the request was made.
- Only a full place can be moved. A student on a trial cannot have a move request. Confirm the trial first.
- One move request per enrolment. When you save a move request for an enrolment that already has one, Swimio updates the existing request.
- The register must be active. You cannot create or change a move request in an archived register.
- Move requests have no purgatory strikes. Strikes count on waitlist entries only. See VIP and purgatory strikes.
