Enrol in a crash course

In a Crash Course register, you book a student straight into a class. There is no offer to answer and no trial. The student gets a full place as soon as you confirm.

For Perpetual and Term registers, you offer a space instead. See Offer a space.

  • The class has a free place. The Enroll Student button on the class card must not be greyed out. See When the button is greyed out.
  • The booking window is open. A Crash Course register stops taking students when its booking window closes. See the booking windows in Set up a register.
  • The student belongs to an account holder. You book on behalf of the account holder.
  1. On the daily view, select Enroll Student on the class card. The Enroll in a Crash Course window opens. The venue and class are already chosen from the card, so you do not see those steps.
  2. Select Account Holder. Search by name or email, then choose the account holder.
  3. Select Student. Choose the student. A student who is already enrolled shows Already enrolled and cannot be chosen.
  4. Provide Ability Score. Answer the ability questions for the register’s award scheme.
  5. Confirm. Check the details under Confirm Enrolment: student, venue, day, time, instructor, and start date. The start date shows Start immediately when the place is free now, or the date it becomes free.
  6. Select Confirm & Enrol.

Result: the student gets a full place in the class. The class card shows the student.

  • Level mismatch. If the student’s level is one level away from the class level, the window shows a note. If it is two or more levels away, a Level mismatch box asks you to confirm. Select Enrol anyway to go ahead, or Cancel to go back. The warning never stops the booking.
  • Age limit. Staff can book a student who is outside the class age limit. An account holder booking for themselves cannot. See How the age limit works.

A Crash Course register moves and finishes students at once, with no requests:
